A. News categorization
4 years ago, we started with 10 to 15 articles 4 years back and now publishing 125 to 150 articles every days, 7 days a week. Our news data base has swollen to more than 100,000 articles by now. But every person is looking for some thing specific and thus for easier accessibility, articles are categorized in following heads
1. International
2. Indian
3. Middle East
4. CIS
5. China
6. Stainless and special steels
7. Raw material and mining
8. Metals

B. Viewing and downloading options
Every browser and its various versions have some peculiarity. Although our endeavor is to optimizes www.steelguru.com for all of them, we suggest you to use Internet Explorer Version 6.0 & up or Motzilla’s Firefox 1.7 & up.

Right Click copying option has been disabled

Adobe Acrobat button is provided on the top right corner of each news article, so that you can download any article as a PDF file for viewing, storing, sharing or printing.

You can also click on the E Mail button on the top right corner of each news article to share the link of any article through e mail with your friends and colleagues.

C. Search functions
This is one of the most important and commonly used features of www.steelguru.com, as it helps you to find stories of your interest from our huge archives having more than 100,000 articles.

1. Basic search function
If you search for news containing "SAIL" in title of news or body of news and position selected is "Anywhere", it would yield all the news containing word SAIL in title of news or body of news. This type of search is best if you are not sure about exact position.

If you are sure that the Title contains a word at beginning or at end, you should select that as position. This would narrow your search. This however, is not the case with body of news. News can be best searched for a particular word or collection of words with position "Anywhere".

2. Advanced search function
This feature is based on up to 4 multiple inputs from you.
May contain keywords
Must contain keywords
Must exclude keywords
Contains exact phrase

Using the advanced search option, the numbers of results are narrowed down drastically thus saving your time

3. Glossary Search
If you search for abbreviation containing "CI", select category and the position selected is "Anywhere", then it would yield all the glossary items containing characters CI in abbreviation. This type of search is best if you are not sure about exact position.

If you are sure about the abbreviation, then type the abbreviation, select abbreviation, select position as at the beginning or in the end. This would narrow your search. This however, is not the case with glossary term itself. A glossary term can be best searched for a particular word or collection of words with position "Anywhere".
